What is Green Burial?
Green burial is a more environmentally-friendly and sustainable means of handling human ashes. There are two ways including scattering ashes at Gardens of Remembrance (GoRs) or at sea.
Compared with other ash-handling methods, green burial are more environmentally friendly, simple, easy to apply and relatively inexpensive, and it also save the descendants from extension procedures for columbarium niches in the future.
The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department's dedicated website provides one-stop information on the three themes of scattering cremains in GoRs, scattering cremains at sea and the Internet Memorial Service website. The FEHD has also launched a series of new facilities and services with the hope that the deceased can leave with dignity and the living can be relieved. Through the life stories shared by users, you can learn how to return to nature through green burial and to preserve love and memories.
